Progress

I am teaching a few classes after work while I am here in Mokpo, Korea. Although I do not have many students, it has been a while since I have taught classes. I am enjoying teaching again a great deal. I enjoy it a LOT and really want to put more of my time back into the martial arts. I have been working on getting more fit. I have spent a lot of time thinking about the martial arts again. I am working on kata still but I can definitely tell I am out of practice in a few areas.

I am very fortunate that my lovely wife has agreed to work with me to save up for a trip to a residential course with Iain Abernethy in July 2015. I am really excited about this opportunity. I have worked with Iain before and every time it is a treat. He is a great guy and a phenomenal martial artist.

The ultimate goal for this course and for teaching when I have the chance is to take another step toward becoming a full time martial arts instructor. As soon as we Tif and I overcome a few hurdles and I have the capital I need to get started, I going to open my very own martial arts school and work very hard to be the best instructor I can for my students.

I know that till I can get my school open, working with Iain and others like him will be a great way to make me my best for my students.

Now I just need to figure out a good time to go visit Kris Wilder, Rory Miller, and a few others. Pretty much everyone who taught at the Crossing the Pond seminar in Seattle a few years ago.

I will try to be a bit more diligent in my posting here. Hopefully with a little progress from time to time.
